Description The Big Pilot’s Watch pays homage to its past: it is the uncompromising embodiment of a historical navigation instrument for pilots. In 2016, IWC took a step back towards the roots of the Big Pilot’s watch and gave it a subtly enhanced appearance. The IWC 52110 in-house movement combines some of the greatest watchmaking achievements. It features an efficient Pellaton automatic winding system made of black or white ceramic, which provides a power reserve of seven days with the help of two barrels. The power reserve display at 3 o’clock indicates the remaining running time of the watch. The Big Pilot’s Watch has a date display positioned at 6 o’clock and a central seconds hand, essential for any watch used during flights. The 46mm diameter case is pressure-resistant up to 6 bar and contains a soft-iron inner case that protects the movement from the influence of magnetic fields. The watch also features a distinctive conical crown. The legendary Junkers JU-52 airplane is engraved on the case back of the Big Pilot’s watch.
