Just had a great day out at Ynys-hir, home to Springwatch again this year. Did some pond dipping and caught damselfly larvae and lesser water-boatmen. Our ponds are teeming with wildlife, we’ve seen loads of newts in one of them and thousands of tadpoles in another. Very exciting!
We are using Monty Don’s plans for compost bins, using stakes and corrugated sheeting. Hopefully we will have beautiful crumbly compost in a few weeks time and won’t have to buy so many bags of the stuff from garden centers.
